Static Lateral Load Test intends to verify the lateral movement behavior with pile top applied load. The main objective of the said load test is to establish / verify the following for the use in the design of working piles which are to be constructed in soil strata having similar geological structure by adopting similar construction practices: –
- To determine/confirm the lateral bending capacity of the pile
- To determine/verify the ultimate bending capacity of the pile, base of specified lateral movement.
- To study the behavior of the pile movement under the applied lateral load.
